The Project for the New American Century (PNAC) is founded by Robert Kagan and William Kristol and funded by three foundations closely tied to Persian Gulf oil and weapons and defense industries

January 1998
The PNAC delivers a letter to President Bill Clinton calling for the invasion of Iraq.

October 1999

September 2000
90 page Rebuilding America's Defences: Strategies, Forces And Resources For A New Century, is written by the Project for the New American Century. It calls for unprecedented hikes in military spending, American military bases in Central Asia and Middle East, toppling of non-complying regimes, abrogation of international treaties, control of the world's energy sources, militarization of outer space, total control of cyberspace, and the willingness to use nuclear weapons to achieve "American" goals. "The process of transformation," the plan said, "is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event - like a new Pearl Harbor." American Free Press asked Christopher Maletz, asst. director of the PNAC about what was meant by the "need for a new Pearl Harbor": "They needed more money to up the defense budget for raises, new arms, and future capabilities," Maletz said. "Without some disaster or catastrophic event," neither the politicians nor the military would have approved.

January 2001
Bush is appointed to the US Presidency and appoints leadership of PNAC to highest levels of Executive branch and Pentagon after a disputed election centering in the state under his brothers governorship. Jeb Bush is also a member of the PNAC.

February 2001
Colin Powell tells the world that Iraq poses no threat. Condoleezza Rice agrees.

September 2001
PNAC gets their "new pearl harbor." 83 minutes elapsed between the time that Flight 11 veered off course and the Pentagon was hit, and 112 minutes elapsed between the time that contact was lost with Flight 11 and Flight 93 crashed. Interceptors were not scrambled until 8 minutes after Flight 11 hit the North Tower, and just 9 minutes before Flight 175 hit the South Tower.

November 2001
Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan falls and a US friendly regime is installed.

February 2003
Colin Powell addresses UN outlining justification for invasion of Iraq, citing false and later discredited evidence including an aerial photograph of an alleged chemical weapons factory that later turned out to be a bakery.

April 2003
Baghdad, the capital of Iraq falls and a US friendly regime is installed.

May 2003
Bush declares "Mission Accomplished."
